The Work Begins!

My arm doesn't hurt anymore and the annoying rash has about gone. Yes, the Covid-19 vaccine was not very pleasant. But that's a box I checked off. 💉💪

I expect there won't be more side-effects. It's up in the air however. At least if it kills me in the middle of the night I won't have to write any guest blogs.

I am very happy to report that I can access my blog with my username and password. Hooray! And while I was at it, I fixed the contact form, which was throwing sparks and frustrating people. Now it's on the right panel, where you can easily leave your message. It's not required by the way. 

And if you noticed, there is a new look. Now, there are books everywhere and some artwork from my book covers are on top. This is all temporary until I either get bored of it and change it or until I get something better and change it. 

That means that I can stay here for as long as I need to. I didn't want to move and create a new page anyway; that seems like an awful lot of effort for what? I don't really want it. 

Yesterday I reached out to a cover artist to begin work on the cover for The Wizards Collide and Ascension (since it currently has a cheapie cover 'made' by (cough) me). 

I also started the long process of preparing for the summer reading by booking some advertising. How will it differ from last time? There's a pandemic. It's different. I don't expect anything else to be different. 

So, from July onward until the publication of Apotheosis on October 31, 2021, I will be around. 

There's much to do! Those guest blogs aren't going to write themselves. And I already had to change the order of the books in the Elohim Trilogy (all five of them). Yeah, I know how to count, reader. Stop looking at me like that... A trilogy has three books in it, so how do I find myself with five? 

It's simple: A lack of planning. On my part. The original Absolution is now book 0. And the "new" version of the book, Absolution: Redux, is now book 1. The other books, The Wizards and The Quantum of the Past: Redux and The Wizards Collide are going to take in-between numbers, like 1.5.  

Lesson learned: Don't call your series a 'trilogy' or 'quartet', etc. until you know how many books you want to cram into it. You'll be safe by calling it a 'cycle' or one of those 'chronicle' books. Regardless, it is an awful lot of backtracking on my part. 

I'm glad I don't write very much on here or I would have a serious case of the cramps.

One Novel in 30 Days

So, I tried going back to work back in November of last year. It didn't go well. This month I ended it and started looking for other ventures. I guess I wasn't ready to go back.

I wonder why. And why I'm hesitant about advertising the books I recently published. But, the work continues...

I finished a draft of Apotheosis back in October of last year, much faster than I had anticipated. In my mind, I needed a whole month to do it. But, after outlining it, the story (all 70,000 words of it) came out fast. Maybe because I have had it in my head for a long time? Who knows. 

As for the Wizards, they're well. I have a rough and first draft of The Wizards Collide (I technically still have the Epilogue to finish). Next week I start reading Apotheosis and The Sprite. How odd that they have to be published this year. It's taken me, what, years to do that to other books? There's still so much to do for them before I can let them go: Formatting; book cover art; platforms. In the meantime, I want to write a rough draft of The Sprite 2. 

I am still trying to decide how best to advertise. There are so many services out there that it's hard to decide. Maybe another book blog tour? Or several, one for each book? Those are time consuming though, so I guess we'll see. 

It's also time to leave this blog and have my own webpage, so I think I should start there. That means I will be moving in the future. It was inevitable, I guess. I mean, I still can't log into this page and am still going around the security to write these tidbits.

Oh, what does it matter? I have removed most of the material I had here, so it won't be such a loss. 

Yawn...

I need to read an Epilogue and then take a nap before Wandavision later on tonight.

Ascension

 

Okay, I guess I should say a little more about this cover. The subject is Kali, a deity of the Hindu religion. The name and the mythology play into the plot of the novel, Ascension.

Ascension: Book Two of the Elohim Trilogy will go on sale on November 2, 2020, less than a month away. I just published The Wizards, which is an story fits nicely between Absolution Redux and Ascension. 

This is a temporary cover. I had a change of heart about the others. I am allowed to do that. 🤨
