I finished my Goodreads reading goal and realized that the year is almost done! What a year this was too. It was one accomplishment after the next. Professionally and legally. There is one thing that I would like to cap this year right, but I will hear about it soon enough. And then, it's on to 2023.
There's so much to be thankful for:
1) I have not died of Covid.
2) I have not contracted the monkey pox or the flu or RSV or any other bug, except maybe a cold.
3) My entire family got Covid-19, but I did not, even though I was in an SUV with them for a considerable period of time and then spent time with them the next day, all day.
4) I still have a roof over my head and I get several meals a day.
5) I finally got a PS5.
Unfortunately, though I have written quite a bit, I haven't finished anything that I can publish. I'm working on a side story unrelated to the Song for Adam Kadmon, an older story, which I conceived in 1997. It's a slasher novel, so to see how others have done it, I read a few of the same kind. I think the last one was called The Final Girls. It ended up having more sex scenes than scenes of death, unusual for a slasher novel. But I think it was more of a thriller, not that it thrilled me.
Other than that, I have been refining other projects and creating outlines for others.
Next up for the Song for Adam Kadmon is the interlude that will take me to the second chapter of my long, long story. That interlude has three books, one of which is almost ready to publish, the other is in rough draft form and the third I'm working on plot points. That third one is called The Wizards of True Gaia. It's turning into a complicated novel. 😤
That's curious. When I put that emoji up there, I meant it to show frustration. But the description of it claims it's a face of triumph! Ha! I don't usually express triumph that way. It's very amusing though.
Anyway, I need to sit down with those wizards, so I can churn out their story and revise the other two works and move on with my life. Perhaps in winter. Perhaps!
Now, I have to go find my funny glasses to wear during the New Year's Eve celebration. And before that, I want to eat some turkey.
